Gillette library to delay opening Tuesday

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Public Library branch in Gillette will be closed for several hours on Tuesday, Aug. 27 due to a water shutoff.

The water in the Gillette branch’s building will be shut off due to work happening elsewhere in the city that requires the water main to be turned off. Library Executive Director John Jackson said in Monday’s meeting of the Campbell County Library Board that without water or operational restrooms for patrons and staff, the library would be required to close. The library plans to open its doors at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

The library will operate under normal hours until Labor Day Weekend, during which both the Gillette and Wright branches will be closed, according to signs posted at the library and on its Facebook page.

Workers who were scheduled to work Tuesday morning will not have their pay docked due to the closure, Jackson said, as the closure was out of their control.
