GILLETTE, Wyo. — Incumbent Sen. Troy D. McKeown, of Senate District 24, was victorious in Tuesday’s primary race against challenger Phil Christopherson.
McKeown tallied 1,602 votes, roughly 57% of all votes cast. Christopherson finished with 1,191 votes.
McKeown has represented the 24th District since 2021. He currently serves on the Select Committee on School Facilities, the Small Business Assistance Program Advisory Panel and the State Employee Compensation Commission.
No Democratic Party candidates ran in the race, though the last day for independents to file is Aug. 26.
All election results are unofficial until ratified by the state.
