GILLETTE, Wyo.— With the first day of school right around the corner, there’s plenty to do in Gillette this weekend to bid farewell to summer vacation. See below for a selection of events for Saturday, August 17, and check out our events calendar for the full list of Saturday events.

Yoga in the Park Festival

Starting bright and early Saturday morning at Cam-Plex Park, Yoga in the Park Festival has something for everyone looking to have an active weekend. Multiple local instructors will be hosting yoga classes throughout the day in addition to music, a vendor market, and a 5k Fun Run/ Walk. Tickets for the 5k are $15, festival passes start at $60. Sundance Lounge Karaoke

Sing your heart out at weekly karaoke night at the Sundance Lounge. Starting at 8 p.m. every Saturday, you can sing along to your favorite tunes and enjoy nightly drink specials. 1020 E. US Highway 14-16.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Wyoming chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association will be hosting their 2024 walk at 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Starting at Lasting Legacy park, the walk requires registration but is free to sign up for and attend. All money raised or donated during the event goes directly to the chapter to support their outreach and direct services work. 500 S. Gillette Ave.

Gillette Elks Lodge Cornhole Tournament

Test your cornhole skills in the Gillette Elk Lodge’s Third Annual Cornhole Tournament. Registration is $30 for each two-person team, with registration opening in-person at 11 a.m. The tournament will start at noon, and the E.T. Eats and Treats Food Truck on site from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. 2200 Greenway Drive.
