GILLETTE, Wyo. — Meteorologists are expecting a comfortable, pleasant day in Gillette after days of afternoon storm potential. Drier air has moved into the region, clearing the forecast and the skies for days to come.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, says today will see a high of 78 under sunny skies. Winds will initially come from the west, later turning to come from the north, at 8–10 mph with 17 mph gusts possible. Dry conditions are expected to continue into tonight, when skies become partly cloudy. The low will be near 55.
The next few days will see higher temperatures as skies remain sunny. Friday’s forecast high is 86, followed by 92 on Saturday and 91 on Sunday. All three days will be sunny, followed by mostly clear to partly cloudy skies. Friday’s low will be near 56, and then weekend lows will be around 62 degrees.
Monday could see the return of an afternoon thunderstorm. Skies will be mostly sunny as the high returns to 91. A partly cloudy night will see a low near 60.
Tuesday and Wednesday will return to sunshine with highs of 89 and 90, respectively.
