GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the following incidents on Wednesday, Aug. 14:
- At 12:27 a.m. to Meadow Rose Avenue for an emergency medical response.
- At 5:41 a.m. to Little Thunder Drive for an emergency medical response.
- At 10:44 a.m. to Bay Horse Road for a timber fire. The lightning-caused fire burned 29 acres.
- At 11:28 a.m. to South Butler Spaeth Road for a natural gas line rupture. The scene was turned over to Black Hills Energy.
- At 11:48 a.m. to Rocky Point Road for a report of smoke. No fire was located in the area.
- At 12:19 p.m. to Sunny Slope Road for a grass fire.
- At 1:16 p.m. to Wolff Road for an emergency medical response.
- At 3:27 p.m. to Garner Lake Road for an emergency medical response.
- At 3:37 p.m. to the 700 block of East Railroad Street for a structure fire. A residence was heavily involved in fire upon CCFD’s arrival. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the residence and remained on scene until 6:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
- At 6:24 p.m. to Weston Hills for a smoke report. Only an old burn area was located, not a new or active fire.
- At 6:50 p.m. to Big Powder River Road for a timber fire. The fire was determined to be outside of Campbell county.
- At 7:41 p.m. to Highway 450 for a single-vehicle rollover.
Year to date, the Campbell County Fire Department has responded to 2,071 requests for service.
