GILLETTE, Wyo. — Mother Nature may rain on your parade if your parade is scheduled for this weekend. Before the rain, though, comes a slighter warmer Friday with drier air.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, has forecast a high today of 71, starting from an overcast 56 degrees at 7 a.m. Clouds will stick around for a partly sunny day, and winds will come from the southeast at 6–9 mph. Expect a partly cloudy Friday night with a low near 50.

Saturday will start off dry as the high moves back to 78. A 20% chance for thunderstorms begins after noon, starting a wet pattern that should bring some more much-needed moisture to Campbell County. Storm chances increase to 50% Saturday night, further rising to 70% after midnight. The low will drop back to 54 degrees.

Sunday will start off with a 60% chance for continued rain showers. Despite the rain and cloud cover, the high should return to 73 degrees. As drier air begins to return to the region, rain chances will fall Sunday afternoon to 40% before dropping off entirely for the evening. The low will be near 51.

A warmup is on the way as a reminder that it is still summer. Monday will see a high near 82, followed by 86 on Tuesday, 85 on Wednesday and 82 on Thursday. Mostly dry days are expected until rain chances return Wednesday evening and Thursday, according to the forecast.
