GILLETTE, Wyo. — A potentially rainy day is on tap for Gillette.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, has forecast a 40% chance for rain all day long today. That will come with a tempered high of 62 degrees. By this evening, rain chances fall to around 20% and the low will drop to 46 degrees.
This almost fall-like day will be a false start on the next season as temperatures should gradually warm up over the weekend and into next week.
A partly sunny Friday is expected to bring a high of 72. Clouds will fill the sky as nightfall comes and the low falls to around 50. That will come with a 20% chance for overnight thunderstorms, leading into a 20% chance of storms Saturday morning, growing to 40% by Saturday afternoon as the high reaches 76. Thunderstorm chances grow again to 50% Saturday evening as the low drops to around 54. Before Sunday morning, there’ll be a 60% chance for continued rain showers.
Sunday will come with a 60% chance for rain, followed by a 50% chance for afternoon thunderstorms. The high will return to 75 degrees despite the clouds and rain, and then fall to a low of 53 under partly cloudy skies.
The 80s make a return next week with a Monday high of 81, followed by 86 on Tuesday and 84 on Wednesday, if the forecast holds up.
