GILLETTE, Wyo. — After intense thunderstorms rocked Gillette on Tuesday night, Camporee officials announced they are accepting donations to replace tents and other items for campers.

Caught outside in the storms, many of those spending the week at CAM-PLEX had damage to their campsites as well as flooding in low-lying areas, according to a press release.

The North American Division Adventist Community Services is setting up drop-off locations for individuals to donate supplies such as tents and sleeping bags. One drop-off point is at the fire station storage building at 200 Rohan Ave. Community members are invited to drop their donations off today until 5 p.m., the release said.

Camporee officials also expressed their gratitude for all the assistance the people of Gillette and Wright have extended to those affected. “Camporee leaders and members are grateful for the immense outpouring of support they have already received from Gillette, including camping supplies, food, and shelter.”
