Peggy Donner Hart: 1972 – 2024
Peggy Marie Donner, age 51, of Gillette, Wyoming passed away peacefully from this world on July 26, 2024 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and close friends. She was born December 9, 1972 in Cadillac, Michigan, and was the daughter of William and Judith Donner.
Peggy graduated from Campbell County High School in 1991. She attended Sheridan College from 1991 to 1993, obtaining a general studies degree. Peggy then decided on pursuing further education and attended Black Hills State University with a major in accounting and minoring in computer applications from 1993 to 1997. During those years Peggy was an active member in the accounting club, scholarship club and VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) of which she received an Outstanding Community Service Project award in 1996.
After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree, Peggy moved her family to Colorado where she secured her first accounting job at Colorado Greenhouse. After seven years of expanding her knowledge through various positions, Peggy moved with her now ex-husband and kids back home to Gillette, Wyoming and ultimately landed her dream position as a Senior Auditor for the State of Wyoming.
Achieving educational success was important to Peggy, however she was most proud to be able to accomplish all she did while raising four beautiful children. Kendra was born in May of 1990 followed by Jared in June of 1994. Shayna followed suit in February of 1999 with Terria completing the crew in December of 2005.
Peggy thoroughly enjoyed basking in the sun and truly took advantage of the warmer months with various camping trips, lake days and BBQ’s. Peggy always had a tropical vacation planned and dreamed of retiring in Arizona (like most of her older relatives) to escape the harsh winters of Wyoming.
While Peggy had many roles in life as a daughter, sister, cousin, mother, friend and more… grandmother was ultimately her favorite. Avalon, Teighan, Skyla, Jacelynn, Laila, Kieran, Ryleigh and Daxton brought her the most joy and she loved them all to the moon and back.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 31, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The American Legion Post #42 200 Rockpile Blvd, Gillette, WY 82716.
If you wish to donate flowers they can be delivered to this location between 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the 31st. This will not be a formal event, as Peggy would want people to be dressed comfortably, however her favorite color was purple. We invite anyone who knew and loved her to join us in celebrating and sharing the countless memories and moments of her life.
