GILLETTE, Wyo. — No injuries were reported in a Monday afternoon interstate crash where a Moorcroft woman rolled her vehicle after sustaining a flat tire, Sheriff Scott Matheny said.
The crash happened near milepost 139 on Interstate 90 on July 22 when witnesses reported seeing a driver’s-side tire blow out on a 2006 Lexus, later found to be operated by a 31-year-old woman, Matheny said.
According to the report, the woman lost control of her vehicle after the blowout and drove into the median at 83 mph, after which the Lexus rolled upon contacting the eastbound lanes.
Matheny said that deputies responded to the crash at the request of the Wyoming Highway Patrol, which didn’t have nearby troopers and wouldn’t have been able to respond for an inordinate length of time. The woman wore her seatbelt and sustained no injuries besides a red mark on her shoulder.
