GILLETTE, Wyo. — From Thursday to Saturday, Gillette is offering multiple free and fundraising events to enjoy.

Downtown Thursday Nights

Thursday, July 18, Downtown Thursday Nights continues at 3rd Street Plaza. The free event highlighting artist Devon Worley will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. The six-week concert series will feature a kids zone, food carts and more fun for all ages.

Gillette Saturday Farmers Market

The Gillette Saturday Farmers Market will take place by the CAM-PLEX, 1635 Reata Drive, between 9 a.m and 6 p.m on Saturday, July 20. The market features local vendors offering meat, dairy, produce, baked goods, canned goods, crafts, soaps, candies, dog treats, organic spices and more.

Open Mic Night

The Frontier Auto Museum invites local talent to perform on Friday, July 19 from 6 to 10 p.m. at 205 S. Ross Ave. The event is free to anyone who would like to perform or come listen. The museum provides microphones and the PA system.

3rd Annual Antique Tractor Show

The 3rd Annual Antique Tractor Show and Rockpile Museum’s 50th Anniversary event will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Vintage tractor enthusiasts and history lovers alike are invited to gather at the field between the Rockpile Museum, 900 W. 2nd St., and the Campbell County Fire Station Field for a memorable occasion.

As part of the anniversary activities, there will be a time capsule sealed, full of memories of Campbell County and the Rockpile Museum, to be opened again at the 100th anniversary. The museum will also reveal the 50th quilt and all of its stories.

Cake and ice cream will be served to celebrate and pay tribute to the past and the community that has supported the museum over the years.

Charity Christmas in July Parking Lot Sale

The Charity Christmas in July parking lot sale, hosted by the Salvation Army, goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20. The event will take place at the Salvation Army Building, 209 Stocktrail Ave., and will include holiday décor, clothing, toys and baby items, shoes and boots, bedding, furniture, books, baskets and more. The organizers are raising money to send more people to faith-based addiction treatment centers.

Show & Shine Car Show

Show & Shine Car Show will be taking place at the Frontier Auto Museum, 215 Ross Ave. Cars will line Ross Avenue in front of the museum from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Vehicles are free to enter.

Cowboys vs. Cancer: Paintball Scramble

The Cowboys vs. Cancer Paintball Scramble will be hosted by Primetime Paintball and Skateboards, 2700 Hannum Road. The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, and will be accompanied by a silent auction. Items for the auction can be found here.

Preregistration is $40 and day-of registration is $50. Registration fees include access to paintball games, rental gear and safety gear, as well as food, including hotdogs, drinks and more.

The event is a cancer benefit for Nathan Kissack and others who have battled cancer.

“This is Wyoming. We are cowboys, and we fight together,” said event organizers on their Facebook page.

Red, White, and Blue BBQ

VFW Post 7756 will host a charity backyard BBQ competition at the CAM-PLEX Marquee campground, 1635 Reata Drive. There will be live music and a raffle for a chance to win prizes. Raffle tickets are $10 for one or $25 for three.

Teams of four can bring a grill or smoker and favorite cut of meat to share with the community. There will be an award for the top three beef, pork and side dish categories. People’s Choice serving starts Saturday, July 20 at noon and ends at 3:30 p.m. Wristbands are required and cost $20 for adults. No bands are required for veterans or children under 12.
