GILLETTE, Wyo. — A website to help keep the community informed during next month’s International Pathfinder Camporee event has been launched, the city of Gillette announced Tuesday in a press release.
The website, InformGillette.com, contains information on road closures, an FAQ section and information on when certain local facilities will be closed to the public during the event. Event organizers have rented out several local facilities for their own use during the week, including the Campbell County Rec Center and various school district facilities such as soccer fields at Thunder Basin High School and the Aquatic Center.
The website also includes additional resources for the public, including information on the “Night at the Camporee” event on Aug. 4, the only part of the event that is open to the public. The night gives residents an opportunity to see an early showing of the Camporee evening program “Believe the Promise,” a 90-minute performance depicting the Old Testament Bible story of Moses.
According to the press release, over twice the population of Gillette, 55,000 people, are expected to attend the event Aug. 5–11.
