2024 leftover hunting licenses on sale July 17

(Wyoming Game and Fish Department)

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Leftover hunting licenses for three big game species will go on sale tomorrow on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Per Game and Fish, leftover licenses for antelope, elk and deer will go on sale at 8 a.m. July 17 on the department’s website, at regional offices and at the headquarters office in Cheyenne.

“Over-the-counter license availability changes each year based on what hunters applied for and received in the initial and leftover draws,” License Section Manager Joshua Moulton said in a statement.

Game and Fish advises hunters to pay close attention to the area and license type when buying over-the-counter leftover licenses.

“The majority of these licenses are in hunt areas in which it may be difficult to obtain access,” Mouton said. “We encourage hunters to seek permission to hunt prior to purchasing an over-the-counter license.”

According to Game and Fish, leftover license availability is posted on the department website
