Hot, dry weather today will come with isolated storm chances

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The forecast is looking mighty dry for Campbell County this weekend, with plenty of heat to boot.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, is calling for a high of 95 today under sunny skies, with a 20% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. Tonight will bring a low of 64 and a 20% chance of showers or thunderstorms after midnight.

That looks to be the end of storm chances until at least Monday night. Saturday is forecast to see a high of 96, followed by 97 on Sunday. Sunday will come with a few more clouds than Saturday, although Saturday night will be partly cloudy. The low will be near 66. Sunday will see a mostly cloudy night as a cool front makes its way into the region, and the low will be near 63.

Monday will still be hot with a high of 90 under mostly sunny skies. There’ll be a slight chance for storms Monday night as the low falls to around 61.

Tuesday also will come with afternoon storm chances. The forecast high is 86. A partly cloudy Tuesday night should see a low near 58.

Sunny skies are the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday. Temps will be between 85 and 88 degrees.
