Campbell County Fire Dept. Report (7/11/24)

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Fire Department responded to the following incidents on Thursday, July 11:

  • At 4:20 a.m. to Running W Drive for an emergency medical response.
  • At 5:33 a.m. to East Boxelder Road for an emergency medical response.
  • At 1 p.m. to Cressett Street for an emergency medical response.
  • At 1:55 p.m. to mile marker 99 on Interstate 90 for a grass fire. Firefighters found three separate fires that totaled 3 acres and were caused by a passing vehicle.
  • At 2:58 p.m. to the 1100 block of Highway 50 for a grass fire. The fire was contained at 13.8 acres.
  • At 3:16 p.m. to Skyline Drive and Boxelder Road for a report of a vehicle fire. Fire units were unable to locate the vehicle.
  • At 3:43 p.m. to the 900 block of North Fir Avenue for a smoke detector activation.
  • At 4:03 p.m. to West Warlow Drive for an emergency medical response.
  • At 6 p.m. to Church Avenue for an emergency medical response.
  • At 7:48 p.m. to mile marker 56 on Highway 59 for a report of two grass fires. Both fires were caused by lightning and are estimated to be over 300 acres total.
  • At 7:55 p.m. to Olmstead Road for a single-vehicle rollover.
  • At 9:03 p.m. to the 700 block of Express Drive for an activated fire alarm.
  • At 10:13 p.m. to Bantam Avenue for an emergency medical response.
  • At 11:53 p.m. to Burma Avenue and Boxelder Road for a grass fire. The fire was contained at 1 acre and was caused by lightning.

Year to date, the Campbell County Fire Department has responded to 1,703 requests for service.
