GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes in and around Gillette yesterday, June 10, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.  

Intoxication, July 10, Warlow Drive, GPD

Officers arrested a 22-year-old man for intoxication after he was reported for allegedly sleeping in a bathroom at Bicentennial Park around 7:13 a.m., Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said. The man couldn’t remember how he got there and officers found his vehicle parked on Pumphouse Lane.

Drugs, July 10, East Highway 14-16, CCSO

Deputies arrested a 42-year-old man for drug possession at a horse track betting establishment on East Highway 14-16 around 1:11 p.m., Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. They learned the man was in a white 2013 Jeep which they located at the establishment. A drug dog indicated on the vehicle and a subsequent search yielded less than a gram of meth found in three pipes and multiple syringes.

Drugs, July 10, Highway 387, CCSO

A 35-year-old man was arrested for using a controlled substance after he was called in for a hazard report on Highway 387 around 2 p.m., Reynolds said. The report said an impaired man was walking on Highway 387 and concerns were raised that he could be struck by traffic. A paramedic contacted the man first and said he seemed OK but was under the influence of something. A woman in a white Dodge took the man to a travel plaza in Wright, where deputies later learned he was on federal parole and contacted him at the request of his probation officer. The man displayed signs of recent drug use and was taken into custody on suspicion he used methamphetamine.

Breaking and entering, July 10, Hill Valley Road, CCSO

Deputies cited two teenagers for allegedly entering a vacant house on Hill Valley Road without permission around 9:33 p.m., Reynolds said. The teenagers — an 18-year-old man and the other a 19-year-old man — were among three individuals seen entering the house. Neither teen denied going into the house, and deputies plan to issue a citation to the third individual, a 17-year-old boy.

DWUI, July 10, West 2nd Street, GPD

A 53-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving following a traffic stop on West 2nd Street around 9:35 p.m., Wasson said. The woman was operating a 2019 Mitsubishi without headlights and displayed signs of impairment when officers contacted her. She performed field sobriety tests and was subsequently taken into custody for DWUI.

Drugs, July 10, Brooks Avenue, GPD

Officers arrested a 64-year-old man for drug possession after stopping him in a 2004 Honda for failing to stop before merging onto Highway 14-16 from a nearby lounge around 10:22 p.m., Wasson said. The man was stopped on 2nd Street near Brooks Avenue, where a drug dog indicated on his vehicle. A search yielded a baggie containing 1.5 grams of suspected meth, resulting in the man’s arrest.
