Showers to hit Gillette before clear night skies on Fourth of July

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Residents can expect isolated showers in Gillette throughout Independence Day before skies clear up at night, creating opportune conditions for celebratory fireworks. The rest of the weekend will see mostly sunny skies with a chance of storms scattered throughout.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, reports that Thursday’s high will be 68 degrees and the low will dip to 48. Showers will occur through mostly sunny skies before noon, then thunderstorms will work their way through Campbell County prior to 4 p.m. Skies will be mostly clear at night.

Friday will see sunny skies and a high of 74 degrees before isolated showers and thunderstorms enter the forecast after 5 p.m. The nighttime low will be 49 degrees, and skies will be partly cloudy.

Weekend weather will continue to feature warm days and 50-degree lows. Saturday will have mostly sunny skies and temperatures near 78 degrees. At night, there will be a 20% chance of showers and storms. Weather conditions will be calm throughout Sunday with mostly clear skies and a high of 74 degrees.
