GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Wyoming Walks program put on by the UW Campbell County Extension’s Community Vitality and Health office has announced several dates for walking activities around town through September.
The first of three events will take place at the Campbell County Fair on Thursday, July 25. Starting at 5:30 p.m., walkers can join in a group walk or participate in the self-guided scavenger hunt across the fair at any time. The scheduled walk will begin at the information desk.
Just over a month later, the next event is a sunset walk along Red Rocks Trail on the north end of Gillette. Attendees may walk, run or bike the trails while learning more about outdoor activities before watching the sunset as a group. The event will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The starting point will be the Red Rocks Trailhead, located at 11 Northern Drive.
In September, cruise through downtown on the Downtown Gillette Historic Walk. Beginning at the Railyard, this walk will share local history of the people and places that built downtown Gillette with the help of guides Mary Kelly and Robert Henning. The walk is set for Thursday, Sept. 12 and will start at 5:30 p.m.
