GILLETTE, Wyo. — A Gillette native has returned to her roots to join Campbell County Health as the newest nurse practitioner in the Cardiology Clinic, the healthcare organization announced Friday.
Brittany Thrall, APRN, who moved to Gillette during her elementary school years and left for college, has returned having completed her academic pursuits. She brings her expertise and a deep passion for healthcare to CCH, according to a June 14 news release.
Thrall’s interest in healthcare was sparked during high school, leading her to become a long-term certified nursing assistant in a role where she found joy and happiness while caring for people’s loved ones, per CCH.
While she intended to remain in long-term care, an inspiring professor with a background in emergency medicine and cardiology shifted Thrall’s career path. Her career at CCH diversified, leading her into daycare and emergency department roles. She became CCH’s first Daisy Award recipient in May 2020 as a registered nurse.
Thrall began her nurse practitioner program with encouragement from family, friends and colleagues. She completed a rotation with CCH Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or APRN, Whitney Fevold during her first clinical semester.
“I loved how intellectually stimulating [cardiology] was,” Thrall said in a statement. The camaraderie and respect among the cardiology team fostered a desire in Thrall to join them.
As a nurse practitioner now herself, Thrall is dedicated to treating patients with the same care and compassion she would offer her own family, CCH says.
She says if you stay in line with that principle foundation, the rest of the job flows from there, “and that’s how we should be in healthcare.”
Thrall is eager to leverage CCH’s extensive resources to connect patients with the support they need to adhere to their care plans and make meaningful improvements in their well-being, per CCH.
“Campbell County Medical Group is thrilled to welcome Brittany Thrall, APRN, to the Cardiology Clinic — confident that her expertise, compassion, and commitment will enhance the exceptional care the community can expect at the CCMG Cardiology Clinic,” the release states.
Correction, June 14, 2024: While APRN is an abbreviation for advanced practice registered nurse, Campbell County Health states Brittany Thrall’s medical title is “nurse practitioner.“
