GILLETTE, Wyo. — Break out the sunscreen, if you haven’t already. The sun will come out today, tomorrow and for days to come.
The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, says a weak upper-high system will clear the skies and let the sun shine, bringing temps in the 80s to Campbell County. That’s the forecast for Gillette today as well, with a high of 83 expected. A 7 mph breeze is forecast from the west with gusts of up to 15 mph possible. Tonight will be clear with a low near 57.
Wednesday will largely repeat today with a high of 83 and clear, sunny skies. A breeze from the west of 9–11 mph is expected with gusts of up to 16 mph. Wednesday night will be mostly clear with a low near 52.
Temperatures could drop just a bit to 80 degrees on Thursday under sunny skies. That’ll be thanks to a north wind at 6–8 mph bringing cooler air into the region. Thursday night’s forecast low is 57.
Friday will see the high rebound to around 88 degrees under partly sunny skies as more moisture floats into the area. It’ll be a breezier day with a south wind at 14–18 mph and gusts of up to 23 mph.
The weekend will see a Saturday high of 84 and a Sunday high of 77, ahead of returning shower chances next week.
