GILLETTE, Wyo. — Three groups dedicated to the arts in Gillette were awarded grant money from the state, the Wyoming Arts Council announced Thursday. The Community Support Grants program awarded money to be used in the upcoming fiscal year.
The Donkey Creek Music and Arts Festival, hosted by Big Lost Meadery and Two Guys Deco, won a grant for $3,982. This year’s festival is just around the corner in June, featuring musical acts like Kira Flight, Albatross and Gabriel the Bull.
Local artisans will also be displaying their creations at Artisan Village the Two Guys Deco space in Gillette during the festival, which is set for Saturday, June 22.
The grants support a wide variety of music and arts in the state, and the Wyoming Arts Council gave out Operational/Project Support Grants to fund events such as Donkey Creek, and also allocated funds for Arts Learning Grants. Like the festival, The Gillette Chamber Music Society was awarded an operational grant of $6,851.
Advocacy for Visual Arts Inc., also based in Gillette, was awarded both types of grant, with $6,594 for an Operational/Project Support Grant and a Arts Learning Grant of $3,484. The three Gillette groups were just a few from a lengthy list of organizations to receive funding from the grant program. See the attached file below for the full list.
