LARAMIE, Wyo. — An Albany County resident died in a residential fire Sunday afternoon after being trapped in their home and unable to escape.

The Laramie Fire Department was dispatched to the blaze at roughly 3 p.m. following an alarm activation. As the firefighters made their way to the scene, dispatchers spoke with the resident, who reported being unable to evacuate the home.

Upon arriving at the fire, some fire engine crews began working to douse the flames while several others focused on locating the trapped occupant.

Once the resident was found, they were immediately taken to Ivinson Memorial Hospital. However, they did not survive the injuries sustained during the fire and died.
