Pleasant weekend temps to dip into next week

GILLETTE, Wyo. — A weekend of pleasant temperatures is ahead for Gillette and greater Campbell County before a cooldown into the work week. After a somewhat chilly start to the day, Saturday will see a high temp of 68 with full sun in Gillette.

Wind gusts could reach 18 mph on Saturday, with the average wind speed expected to stay between 8 and 11 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota. Weekend high temperatures will top out at 71 on Sunday with a sharp drop to 51 and cloudy skies on Monday.

A slight chance of rain is possible Sunday, but will more likely develop later in the week. There is a 40% chance of rain on Monday, with similar odds of thunderstorms developing on Tuesday afternoon and into the evening. The sun will peek back through partly cloudy skies on Wednesday, with temperatures working back up to the mid-60s by next weekend.
