Dear Gillette,
Camel Kids wrestlers competed at the WAWA State tournament in all three styles. Our athletes wrestled their hearts out. Not to mention our girls placed second as a team in Folkstyle.
In Folkstyle, we had 34 wrestlers compete. Camel Kids placed 24 out of the 34 and put 10 into the State Championship match coming away with seven state champs. Lucas Stirling, Steven Ziegler, Nolan Aultman, Breckin Henry, Madilyn Kwallek, Tynlee Petersen, and Norma Aultman were all state champs. Jacob Stirling, Chyla Stephen’s, and Liv LeBlanc were all second place.
Placing third was Tatum Branson. Placing fourth were Skylar Howe, Gage Robinson, Pyper Price, Aeryss Lawal, Lauralie Perry and Sophia Baker. Placing fifth were Cameron Sisneros, Caiden Villmow and Logynn Petersen. Placing sixth were Colton Malone, Chase Braband, Elijah Black and Paisley Tolar.
In Freestyle, we had 26 compete and 18 placers with nine making it into the championship match. Camel Kids had six state champions: Lucas Stirling, Jacob Stirling, Steven Ziegler, Nolan Aultman, Breckin Henry and Madilyn Kwallek.
Placing second were Skylar Howe, Gage Robinson and Liv LeBlanc. Placing third were Caiden Villmow, Elijah Black, Pyper Price, Sophia Baker and Chyla Stephens. Placing fourth was Cameron Sisneros. Placing fifth were Peyton Swift and Colton Malone, and in sixth was Logynn Petersen.
Last but definitely not least was Greco Roman, my favorite style to wrestle and coach. Every year at Greco State Tournament we have a contest to see who can get the most 5-point throws in the tournament. Camel Kids love this contest, and if you were to watch the tournament, you would see that Camel kids as a whole stand out as kids not afraid to “Go Big” as we call it.
This year we had several big throws by several wrestlers. We had 18 wrestle Greco and put nine in the championship match with five coming out as state champions. Lucas Stirling, Jacob Stirling, Steven Ziegler, Nolan Aultman and Gage Robinson all were champions. Placing second were Elijah Black, Breckin Henry, Cameron Sisneros and Chyla Stephen’s. Placing third were Skylar Howe and Madilyn Kwallek. Placing fourth were Chase Braband, and Caiden Villmow, and placing fifth was Peyton Swift and Pyper Price.
Great year, Camel Kids! So proud of all of you. Every single wrestler in our club got better this year, which is the goal. Thanks to all the Camel Kids coaches, parents and board members for another successful season. Our Camel Kids family is simply the best.
