GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County Health is accepting applications for its 2024 Junior Volunteer Program, an effort to expose youth to multiple career paths and provide experience working in a professional environment.
Per CCH, the Junior Volunteer Program offers youth between the ages of 13 and 18 the opportunity to perform specific duties within the healthcare organization such as greeting patients, assisting nursing and support staff and working with children and The Legacy residents, among other healthcare-related services.
Participants may also help in the Gift Shoppe and at the Information Desk in addition to selling popcorn to raise money for the Volunteer Services Scholarship Program, which provides two $1,500 scholarships per year to high school students, CCH says.
Per CCH, interested youth between the ages of 13 and 18 can receive an application at the Information Desk in the main lobby of Campbell County Memorial Hospital, 501 S. Burma Avenue, or they can obtain one online. All applications must be dropped off at the Information Desk by Friday, May 3.
All applicants must be able to volunteer three hours per week, excluding vacation, and have transportation to and from their volunteer location. Shirts or uniforms will be provided, CCH says.
The program has a limited number of available spaces and the application window will close once 40 applications are received, with interviews to follow. One parent must attend the interview with the applicant and orientation will be held in early June, with the program kicking off on June 12 and running through Aug. 2.
