After receiving an anonymous report that a 19-year-old man, identified as Devin Solomon, had pointed a gun at multiple people at a party at a residence on the 4500 block of Running W Drive, officers arrested him at another residence on the same block. According to Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson, the arrest was aided by an additional tip that Solomon was staying in a different apartment within the same residential complex on Running W Drive. Solomon was charged with kidnapping, simple assault, two counts of felonious restraint and three counts of aggravated assault.

Domestic Violence, April 19, 2200 block of South Emerson Avenue, GPD

A 22-year-old woman reported that a 28-year-old woman unlawfully entered the residence of her apartment where she lives with her boyfriend, a 24-year-old man, attempting to assault the pair as well as a friend, a 26-year-old man, who was in the residence at the time.

The female who entered the home was formerly in a relationship with the 24-year-old, according to Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson, and the two also have a child together. After finding out his home address, the 28-year-old gained entry to the apartment complex through a door that was normally kept locked. She was arrested and charged with unlawful entry and domestic violence in the form of assault at 2:41 a.m. Friday morning.

Criminal Inquiry, April 18, Baymont Hotel, GPD

31-year-old Hugo Hernandez was arrested at the Baymont Hotel in Gillette after the Gillette Police Department received information on Wednesday that he was wanted for a negligent homicide warrant in South Dakota. Police contacted Hernandez via phone, and he exited the hotel to be arrested after he was informed of the warrant, Police Deputy Chief Brent Wasson said. The Northwest Judicial District in South Dakota issued the warrant for Hernandez on Monday following an investigation into the 2023 shooting death of a 30-year-old woman in Watford, South Dakota.
