Cool, breezy Thursday forecast as cold fronts move through

GILLETTE, Wyo. — A breezy day is in the forecast as a couple of cold fronts queue up to move through the region.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, says today’s high will reach 41, accompanying mostly sunny skies and a northwest wind at 13–21 mph. Gusts could reach 31 mph. Winds will die down some as nighttime approaches, falling to 7–15 mph with gusts of up to 24 mph. Skies will become partly cloudy tonight, alongside a low near 21.

A cool Friday is forecast with a high of just 37. Skies should be mostly sunny as north winds continue at 8–17 mph with gusts of up to 25 mph. The night sky will clear as the low falls to around 19 degrees, according to the forecast.

Saturday will take the first steps toward warming the region up into the 70s by midweek. The forecast high is 46 under mostly sunny skies, followed by continued mostly sunny skies and a high of 65 on Sunday. Saturday night skies will be mostly clear, with a low near 28. However, Sunday night will see a chance for rain and a low near 37.

The temperature reach a high of 55 on Monday, followed by 61 on Tuesday and 72 on Wednesday, if the forecast holds up.
