Man arrested for Express Drive attack on pregnant woman, teen

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Police have located and arrested a man in connection with a weekend assault on a pregnant woman and her 14-year-old son, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said Monday.

The man was identified on April 15 as 31-year-old Jackson Nichols, who fled from a residence on Express Drive on April 13 after allegedly striking a pregnant woman in the stomach multiple times and injuring her 14-year-old son around 3:30 p.m., Wasson said.

According to the report, Nichols knew the woman was pregnant and the 14-year-old boy had a scrape on his knee in addition to an injury on his throat from being grabbed by his collar.

The 31-year-old woman was transported to the Emergency Department at Campbell County Health by emergency medical services, Wasson said, adding that the extent of the woman’s injuries was not known at the time of the report.

Officers located Nichols after he returned to the residence around 1:49 a.m. April 14, Wasson said.

Arrest records from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office indicate Nichols has been charged with felony aggravated assault on a pregnant woman and felony child abuse.
