MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS, Wyo. — Starting Friday, April 19, Yellowstone National Park will open certain roads to the public to begin the summer season, according to a press release.
Weather permitting, three roads will open at 8 a.m. that Friday:
- West Entrance to Old Faithful via Madison Junction
- Mammoth Hot Springs to Old Faithful via Norris Junction and Madison Junction
- Norris Junction to Canyon Village
These roads and the few roads open year round will be the only roads accessible to visitors in the park. More roads within the park will open in May, depending on weather, the park said.
To stay up to date on road openings and conditions within the park, check out the Yellowstone National Park’s website.
As always, visitors are encouraged to plan ahead before visits to the park by staying aware of current weather conditions and to keep travel plans flexible in instances of changing weather or emergencies. The park encourages visitors to buy passes ahead of time to reduce wait times at entrances.
