CCH announces new family practice provider Dr. Lauren Dusek

GILLETTE, Wyo. — An Alabama graduate has joined Campbell County Health as the healthcare organization’s newest family practice provider, according to an April 10 release.

A medical school graduate of the University of South Alabama, Dr. Lauren Dusek comes to CCH after completing her residency in Rome, Georgia, at Floyd Family Medicine. She and her husband were drawn to Gillette due to their desire to move out west to a small town with abundant outdoor activities.

Dusek’s educational path started in the field of physics, but after realizing her passion for anatomy and physiology she changed to microbiology, pre-med and ultimately medicine. Her last rotation and clinicals in family medicine were particularly impactful, leading to her residency in family medicine, CCH says.

“Her commitment to family practice stems from its longitudinal aspects, allowing her to build lasting relationships with patients and provide comprehensive care for a lifetime,” CCH said.

Of her career thus far, Dusek mostly remembers the times she’s made a difference, such as helping her patients gain more time — both in their lives and with their loved ones. She finds fulfillment in witnessing the transformation of patients and says these moments reaffirm her choice to pursue a medical career, per CCH.

When not practicing medicine, Dusek and her husband enjoy spending time with their children and partaking in outdoor activities. They look forward to experiencing what Wyoming has to offer like snowshoeing and snowmobiling, CCH says.
