BLM announces April wild horse adoption dates in Wyoming

GILLETTE, Wyo. — For those interested in taming a wild horse of their own, the BLM has two upcoming opportunities in the month of April to adopt animals from its care.

The first event, on Friday, April 19, will be at the Off Range Corral site in Wheatland. The event opens at 8 a.m. with the live auction starting at 9 a.m. Up to 30 horses are available for adoption. The auction will run until noon, operating on a first-come, first-served basis.

The second adoption event in April will have wild burros available for adoption in addition to horses. Up to 40 horses and 10 wild burros will be available at the Rock Springs Wild Horse Facility on Lionkol Road in Rock Springs. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.
