GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County Health will showcase a recently acquired surgical robot this weekend, the healthcare organization announced on March 29.
On April 6 during Access to Healthcare Day, CCH will unveil its da Vinci Robot, a state-of-the-art platform combining advanced robotics, cutting-edge computer technology and precision instrumentation to enable minimally invasive surgery with enhanced precision, control and dexterity, according to a March 29 press release.
“The system allows surgeons to perform complex procedures with smaller incisions, leading to reduced pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times for patients,” CCH says.
With a variety of surgical functions in various specialties, the robot provides surgeons with a high-definition, 3-D visualization of the surgical site, which allows for better decision-making while expanding treatment options for patients. Smaller incisions and minimal tissue damage mean less scarring and quicker recovery times compared to open and laparoscopic procedures.
Ron Evangelista, CCH’s director of Surgical Services, says the healthcare organization is dedicated to embracing technologies that improve surgical outcomes and experiences and the addition of the robot is a milestone toward accomplishing its organizational goal.
On April 6, the robot will be on display for demonstrations and interactive sessions during Access to Healthcare Day, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the capabilities of the robot and how it is transforming the future of surgery, per CCH.
“We encourage everyone to join us on Access to Healthcare Day to learn about robotic surgery at CCH and how it is advancing healthcare delivery,” CCH CEO Matt Shahan said in a statement. “We are excited to share this remarkable advancement in our offerings with the community and demonstrate our dedication to providing state-of-the-art and high-quality care close to home.”
