CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Wyoming inmate John Sides died Saturday at the Sussex I State Prison in Virginia. He was held by the Virginia Department of Corrections via the Interstate Compact.
Sides had been convicted of first degree attempted murder and bringing weapons into a jail or other penal institution. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1995.
The Wyoming Department of Corrections will perform an autopsy to officially determine the cause of death. The coroner is currently investigating the death as a possible suicide.
