As we finalize the details of this year’s fundraising event, Jason’s Friends Foundation would like to extend another note of gratitude to the citizens of our community and state for their astonishing support.

Over $400,000.00 was contributed to the 26th Annual Bowl for Jason’s Friends event, which took place at El Mark-O Lanes in Casper on March 2. On the same day in Gillette, the 2nd Annual Bowl for Jason’s Friends took place at Camelanes and raised over $25,000. Tireless teams of bowlers collected donations from family, friends, companies and strangers. Our corporate and lane sponsors offered unwavering support, and prize sponsors donated amazing items to our silent auction. Volunteers gave of their time, talent and energy. It was a widespread effort and an enormous success.

Since our beginning in 1996, we have disbursed over $7.6 million to Wyoming families who have a child who suffers from childhood cancer, a brain tumor or spinal cord tumor. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the family is thrown into a financial crisis and engulfed in a chaotic new environment that is both frightening and confusing. When that happens, Jason’s Friends is there to lend a helping hand.

We help with expenses such as travel out of state to pediatric cancer facilities for treatment, including fuel, food and lodging. Additionally, back at home, we help with essential household bills to assure the house or rent payment is made and utilities and other everyday bills are paid. Finally, we reimburse for the child’s medical insurance deductibles.

Jason’s Friends Foundation exists because of Wyoming’s support and incredible spirit of giving. Your generosity makes an enormous difference in the lives of the children and families known as Jason’s Friends. Many, many thanks to all.
