The Visitation and Advocacy Center for the Sixth Judicial District recently held its 12th Annual Red Wagon Gala event, and the event wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of countless organizations.
“Our 12th Annual Red Wagon Masquerade Ball raised over $113,000 for our programs!” said Karen Littleton, the executive director of the Visitation & Advocacy Center. “We appreciate every business, individual and volunteer that believes in our mission and supports our fundraiser year after year. We live in a very generous and kind-hearted community, and for that we are thankful.”

According to the VAC website, “Our Visitation Center provides a safe place for families to exchange their children for visitation. This allows for the children, as well as parents, to have a non-hostile environment while allowing the child/ren to be moved from one parent to the other for visitation. Families sometimes need to have monitored visits with their child/ren. At VAC we provide a monitored place that a non-custodial parent may come to visit their child. This process helps both the child, as well as the parent, with the reintegration process.
“We also provide online, court accepted co-parenting classes. VAC for the sixth Judicial District is also an extension of the court system. Through our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program we are assigned every child that is deemed abused or neglected in Campbell County. Our responsibility is to provide and supervise advocates for as many of these children as possible. These advocates provide a voice for their children throughout the court process.”
In 2023, our visitation center provided:
- 1,709 hours of supervised visitation
- 518 monitored exchanges
- 90 parents with co-parenting classes
Our Advocacy Program provided:
44 volunteer advocates who gave support for 85 of the 293 children deemed abused or neglected on our waiting list.
None of these accomplishments would be possible without the support of the community!
