CASPER, Wyo. — Riverton police detectives are seeking public input as they investigate the death of 51-year-old Payne Yellowrobe, who was found on the side of the road the early morning of Monday, Feb. 19.
Officers arriving on scene behind the Saint James Episcopal Church in Riverton called detectives after possible signs of trauma were observed on Yellowrobe, according to a release on Friday.
“Police received information that someone in the area may have heard a disturbance Sunday afternoon between 3 and 9 p.m.,” police said.
“Anyone who may have seen Yellowrobe or may have security footage on their home / business security cameras in the area is asked to call Riverton Detectives at (307) 856-4891.
An autopsy is scheduled for this week. Yellowrobe was found wearing a cap, blue jacket, and blue jeans, and was carrying a black backpack.
