GILLETTE, Wyo. — Gillette can expect to see warm and dry weather through at least Sunday ahead of cooler air and rain chances to start the next work week.
Mostly cloudy skies are in the forecast for today, with the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota, calling for a high of 49. There should be a breeze from the west at 5–10 mph. As winds turn to come from the north, cloudy skies will gradually clear tonight. The low will fall to around 27, though a 10 mph wind from the north will make it feel like 20.
Breezy conditions are expected Thursday and Friday. Thursday will be sunny with a high near 49. Winds will come from the northwest at 10–20 mph, and they’ll stay that strong through the night as the low falls to around 27.
Friday will be much the same with a high of 48 under sunny skies. Winds from the west will pick up to 15–20 mph with gusts reaching 30 mph. Night skies will be mostly clear as the low returns to around 27, according to the forecast. Winds will die down some to 10–15 mph from the northwest. Gusts could still reach 25 mph.
A warm, sunny weekend is in the forecast for Gillette. Saturday will see sunny skies with a high of 54, followed by a high of 58 on Sunday. Saturday night’s low should be around 30 while Sunday’s will be near 38.
Breezy conditions are expected again Sunday night as a cold front makes its way into the region, bringing Monday rain chances with it. Monday’s high is forecast at 56 degrees, but on Tuesday the high will reach just 31. Snow chances also return Tuesday.
