GILLETTE, Wyo. — A man was arrested for felony aggravated assault on Huntington Drive the night of Feb. 13 after allegedly pointing a shotgun at a woman during an altercation, Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson said.
Richard Pfeil, 38, was taken into custody after witnesses reported he leveled a shotgun at a 64-year-old woman during an argument on Huntington Drive around 10:23 p.m., Wasson said.
The woman’s daughter, 43, told officers when they arrived that she bit Pfeil’s back to keep him from hurting her mother while he had a gun pointed at her and that he struck her in the chest. Pfeil was also accused of knocking a phone out of the 64-year-old woman’s hands when she tried to call 911, per Wasson.
Pfeil denied pointing a gun at anyone, but officers located a black shotgun in his Nissan. He was taken into custody for felony aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence and interfering with an emergency call.
