Campbell County Board of Commissioners ratifies new CARE board members

The Campbell County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Feb 6, 2024.

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The Campbell County Community, Advocacy, Resources, & Education — or CARE — Board’s grants management specialist, Kristen Young, appeared before the Campbell County Board of Commissioners during its Feb. 6 meeting to ratify two new CARE Board members.

One member, Amanda Muhlbauer, was appointed to the role by the City of Gillette. The other, Taylor Jones, was elected by members of the low-income community at the recent Day of Hope event at the Council of Community Services.

Young explained in her discussion with the commissioners that the makeup of the CARE Board was partly election-based to give the community members directly benefiting from its services a voice in the board’s makeup.

Both Muhlbauer and Jones will serve in their positions until Jan. 31, 2028. There is still one appointed position on the CARE Board that is vacant at this time, according to a letter submitted to the Board of Commissioners.

The letter submitted to the Board of Commissioners may be read in full below:
