GILLETTE, Wyo. — Reports of gunshots near Lohdal Avenue prompted a police response early Saturday morning, though a potential suspect was not and has not been identified, according to Gillette Deputy Police Chief Brent Wasson.
Officers responded to the area of Lohdal and Foxhill avenues shortly after 1 a.m. Feb. 3 after the police department received multiple 911 calls from residents who reported hearing gunshots, Wasson said.
While patrolling the area and looking for signs of recent gunfire, officers were flagged down on Foxhill Avenue by an 18-year-old man who reported stepping out to investigate why his dog was barking and seeing a person dressed in black walking down the street.
The individual was described as a man who was possibly in his mid-30s with facial hair, Wasson said, adding that officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description.
