Breaking news: Denton Knapp resigns from Campbell County Commissioners’ Office

GILLETTE, Wyo. — Denton Knapp will depart from his role as administrative director for the Campbell County Commissioners in March, his office confirmed Thursday morning.

Knapp submitted his letter of resignation on Feb. 1, though he intends to continue his administrative duties through February with his final day being March 1, according to a release from the Campbell County Commissioners Office.

“The Campbell County Commission intends to open the position immediately in an effort to fill the vacancy as soon as they are able,” the release states. “As the process for filing the vacancy left by Mr. Knapp is determined, more information will be released.”

Per the release, Knapp intends to pursue personal endeavors around supporting veterans and the U.S. Army.

“Campbell County is grateful for the service Mr. Knapp has provided and wish him luck in his future ventures,” the release states.

A retired U.S. Army colonel, Knapp has served in his position since 2022 and is a member of the Campbell County Veteran’s Council.
