GILLETTE, Wyo. — Campbell County Health’s Journey Program will enter its second year, continuing its educational mission to nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals, the healthcare organization announced Wednesday.
The Journey Program is a professional development program for high school seniors interested in a healthcare career. Spanning several years, the program incorporates a comprehensive education and job training approach, per CCH.
This year, five positions are available for high school seniors graduating in Spring 2024 — four positions in the Registered Nurse track and one in the Information Technology track, CCH says. The application period is open until Jan. 19.
During the application process, applicants will go through a thorough review by department managers and promising candidates will be interviewed, per CCH. Once selected, students will enroll in professional development programs within the healthcare organization, which will cover the costs of college classes and materials.
“Investing in our community is a philosophy we live by at CCH,” said Lisa Coleman, manager of professional development and emergency preparedness. “By eliminating barriers and providing mentorship through the Journey Program, we are not only building future healthcare professionals but also contributing to the future wellness of our community. We also believe this is how exceptional healthcare systems are built — by investing in the aspirations of the next generation.”
