GILLETTE, Wyo. — Here is a summary of notable crimes that occurred in and around Gillette yesterday, obtained through law enforcement reports compiled by the Gillette Police Department and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
Bar fight, Nov. 28, East Lakeway Road, GPD
Officers were dispatched to a bar on East Lakeway Road around 12:54 p.m. to investigate reports of a bar fight, Gillette Police Capt. Jason Marcus said. When they arrived, they found two patrons holding down a 36-year-old man. The man was allowed to stand up, and he immediately began screaming profanities and attempted to reengage in a physical altercation with a 47-year-old man. He was taken into custody for intoxication and witnesses told officers that the two men had previously fought after having a conversation. Both men punched the other in the face and were evaluated by emergency medical services. The 47-year-old man was also charged with intoxication, though he wasn’t arrested, and the 36-year-old man was trespassed from the bar.
DWUI, Nov. 28, South Miller Avenue, GPD
A 21-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving after witnesses reported seeing him slumped over behind the wheel of a silver Dodge around 3:57 p.m. on South Miller Avenue, Marcus said. The man was contacted in the driver’s seat and was holding a can of air duster. The man was extremely disoriented and admitted to inhaling air duster. He was taken to Campbell County Health, and was taken into custody for DWUI after a blood draw.
Theft, Nov. 28, Elkhorn Drive, CCSO
Deputies responded to a storage facility in Wright around 4:09 p.m. after a 44-year-old woman called to report painting supplies were stolen from her unit, Undersheriff Quentin Reynolds said. The woman reportedly found her combination lock had been cut off and a ladder, drip cloth and paintbrushes were missing. The items were valued at less than $500, and the investigation is ongoing.
Drugs, Nov. 28, Tepee Street, GPD
A 45-year-old woman was arrested for drug use after she was reported for screaming and causing a disturbance on Tepee Street around 11:16 p.m., Marcus said. The woman had her 2-year-old daughter with her when officers arrived and admitted to using methamphetamine earlier that day. The girl was taken into protective custody and the Wyoming Department of Family Services was notified.
