GILLETTE, Wyo. — A proclamation designating November 2023 as Epilepsy Awareness Month was signed into effect by Gillette Mayor Shay Lundvall this week.
Epilepsy is an incurable neurological condition characterized by recurrent, unprovoked seizures affecting millions of people across the United States, including thousands in Wyoming and neighboring states, per the proclamation.
With the proclamation, the city joins a nationwide effort to increase epilepsy awareness and encourage Americans to join the movement to end the stigma often associated with epilepsy.
