GILLETTE, Wyo. — Ashton Floyd, a Rawhide Elementary school student, was recognized Nov. 21 as the winner of the city’s Christmas pin art contest.
She is one of 148 students in sixth grade from seven elementary schools who submitted their original sketches this fall for the contest, according to a City of Gillette news release. The contest has become a beloved community tradition over the last two decades. Floyd is a student in Sue Cosgrove’s art class.
Pins featuring her winning design are available in the City Clerk’s office, which is on the first floor of City Hall, 201 E. 5th St. Pins are limited to one per person.
