Terry Wenger: 1937 – 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Terry Wenger, who left this world on November 10, 2023 at the age of 86.
Terry was born on June 27, 1937, in Riverton, Wyoming to her loving parents A.G. “Red” and Rose McLaughlin. She held the position of the eldest among five daughters and one younger brother. She quietly embraced a life of love and esteem towards her family and loved ones.Terry was the proud mother to two sons, Samuel John and Timothy James, and one daughter, Jennifer Ann, a quiet reflection of her continuous love. Her legacy will live on through the love and strength she instilled in each of them.
As a grandmother, Terry Wenger delighted in the laughter and joy of her four grandchildren: Joshua (Wenger), Kimberly (Wenger), Samantha (Brewer), and Elijah (Wenger). Their youthful energy brought a sparkle to her eyes, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Later in life, she became a great-grandmother to two beautiful great-granddaughters, Anastacia (Brewer) and Autumn (Brewer), adding another layer of love to her ever-growing family tree.
In her final years, Terry found solace and tranquility in the coastal beauty of Texas. She was surrounded by the comforting presence of her oldest son, Samuel John, creating a place of love and support that defined her later years.
Terry Wenger is survived by all of her children; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; a testament to the enduring impact of her love and guidance. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.In the absence of immediate plans for a funeral or memorial service, we ask for your understanding and patience during this time of reflection and grief.

LuJean Egan: 1934 – 2023
Funeral services for longtime Gillette, Wyoming resident, LuJean Egan, age 89, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 1500 O’Hara Dr.
A graveside service will immediately follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held on, Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Gillette Memorial Chapel located at 210 W. 5th St.
LuJean was born on May 10, 1934, in Vernal, Utah to Lewis Marion Murray and Ida Elizabeth Willes. She grew up in Jensen, Utah with her brother, Philip J and many cousins, whom she would come to call her brothers and sisters. In 1946 her mother passed away. Her father was a trapper for the Federal Government and not always able to be with his daughter. She was raised by her two grandmothers and her aunt and uncle.
LuJean learned many wonderful things from them including kindness, charity, appreciation for all of God’s creations, and the value of working hard. She also picked up quite a green thumb. Most importantly, they taught her to love her savior, Jesus Christ.
LuJean married Charles Hurd, on November 2, 1951, in Vernal, Utah. They were later divorced, in April of 1952. LuJean then married Jimmy Mayse Donald Sr. on October 2, 1952. Born to this union were three children: Nancy Lee, Jimmy Mayse Jr. and Julia Gaye. Their young family lived in many different states. In 1968 the family moved to Gillette where they owned and operated their oil field trucking business. LuJean was an LPN and worked at Pioneer Manor, where she loved taking care of the elderly.
Jim and LuJean became acquainted with a young man, Mark Blake, who became a member of the family. Jim and “Jean” divorced in January of 1972. While working at Starr Communication, Jean met “Rab” Briggs, the telephone repair man. She married Robert Weldon Briggs on September 22, 1972. This new blended family added Douglas Earl, John Arthur, and Gerri Annette Briggs. Jean and Rab had a great influence with another young man, Rodney Greckoff.
Rab and Jean had a bee business, “Granpa’s Honey Farm”, selling local honey. Jean worked at Fashion Fabrics. She did sewing, mending and alterations for the public. Jean, Nancy, and Julie loved to make elaborate Christmas Cookie Houses and Trains and sold them at the bazaar. She loved hunting, fishing, and camping with Rab and the family. She was very talented at crocheting, embroidery, and quilting. Jean and Rab lived a beautiful life until his death on November 21, 1999.
On July 28, 2000, Jean married Marvin Eland Egan in the Billings Montana Temple, sealed for time and for all eternity. Marvin had a large family of his own: Marvin Keith, Bryan Earl, Marilyn Kay, Barbara Eileen, Amy Jo Anne, and Craig Ryan. Craig affectionately called Jean, “Mom.”
Joining these two families together created a total of 15 children, their spouses, and families. Jean was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life. Jean and Marvin served a mission in the Sundance Branch for 18 months. She was the director of the Family History Center in Gillette, for over a decade. She served in numerous callings in the church. She loved every kind of flower, but her favorite was the little purple pansy touched with yellow gold.
Her garden was a sight to behold! Jean was the true matriarch of her family, and her posterity is numerous. She counted anyone who needed a grandmother as her own. She was happy to say, “I am the first of five generations living!” She is survived by her husband, Marvin Egan; children: Nancy Hanson (Gene), Jimmy Donald Jr. (Cathy), Doug Briggs (Karen), John Briggs, Gerri Bannister (Steve), Keith Egan, Barbara Amberson (Jeff), Amy Collins (Jack), and Craig Egan. She was the best grandmother of 37, a fun great-grandmother of 80, and a happy great-great-grandmother of one precious grandson.
LuJean was preceded in death by her parents; her brother; many aunts; uncles; and cousins; three children: her daughter, Julia Reeves, Marilyn Fairbanks, Bryan Egan; two grandsons, Dennis Hanson and Jimmy Donald III; granddaughter, Cassie Arnold; and her great-granddaughter, Katie Spainhower.
