Frances Arline Cooper: 1932 – 2023
Funeral service for Frances Cooper will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Church at the Barn 2 W. McKenzie Road, Gillette, Wyoming, with Mike Morrison officiating; interment at 3:00 p.m. at the Moorcroft Cemetery.
Visitation will take place prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Frances Arline (McGurn) Cooper, age 91 of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Legacy Living and Rehabilitation Center in Gillette, Wyoming.
Frances Arline (McGurn) Cooper was born on May 4, 1932 in Moorcroft, Wyoming to Charles W. “Buster” McGurn and Ora A. (Caster) McGurn. Frances attended grade school and high school in Moorcroft. Went back to high school and got her diploma after she got married. She graduated and got her diploma in 1951-1952. She loved school and especially home economics.
Frances started in the employment field soon after high school to take care of her children, she did waitressing and factory work in California, worked at Decker’s Bakery for many years, was a good baker, worked at Decker’s quick shops when the store closed, then went to Wal-Mart working two jobs at times, she stayed at Wal-Mart for 20 years, then at 80 years of age she retired. She did a lot of sewing and crocheting and gardening and canning, busy all the time.
Frances is survived by her six sons and one daughter: Ronnie L. Noble of Sacramento, California; Paul Michael Noble (daughter-in-law Bonnie Lewis-Noble) of Gillette, Wyoming; Lyle C. Baxter of Gillette, Wyoming; Bradley R. Baxter of Everett, Washington; Curtis Lee Cooper of Gillette, Wyoming; Timothy O. Cooper of Gillette, Wyoming; and daughter, Mary Frances Cooper of Gillette, Wyoming; brother, Charles O. McGurn of Casper, Wyoming; half-brother, Oliver Sutton of Kaycee, Wyoming; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Buster and Ora McGurn; stepmother, Florence; brother, Robert W; sister, Alice Wilkinson; daughter, Tina Lucille Dickerson (born May 22, 1965 died 1972) and infant son, Ronald Michall Shepherd Jr. (born July 17, 1972 passing the same day).
Memorials are suggested to benefit Church at the Barn.
