GILLETTE, Wyo. — Volunteers are needed to join a new temporary Citizen Advisory Board, according to the City of Gillette.
The committee is intended to provide guidance to the Gillette City Council, the city staff and the city’s planning consultants to aid in the development and completion of the Comprehensive Master Plan, according to a Sept. 14 release from the city.
Per the release, the committee is temporary and will be dissolved after the plan is adopted by the Gillette City Council, which should happen sometime in 2025.
“Committee members are expected to attend public work sessions, open houses, and other events as advocates of the plan process and the plan itself,” according to the city. “This committee will ensure the Comprehensive Plan reflects the desire and vision of all citizens of Gillette.”
Once fully formed, the committee will meet 10 times over 20 months, and membership is limited to citizens who work or reside within the city limits, per the release.
Applications are available online and in the Administration Office on the third floor of City Hall, 201 E. 5th St/ in Gillette. Applications can be returned in person at City Hall or can be emailed to admn@gillettewy.gov no later than 4 p.m. on Sept. 20.
