GILLETTE, Wyo. — Local industry giant L&H Industrial was recently featured in “Breaking Through” — a new video series from the Wyoming Business Council — to tell their story and showcase Wyoming.
Founded in 1964, L&H Industrial has been in business since 1964 and is headquartered in Gillette, where it leads technological innovations, custom manufacturing and comprehensive services for heavy industrial machinery in the mining, oil and gas, railways and other industries, per WBC.
In the video, L&H Industrial President Mike Wandler said the company advances with its mission to move industries forward by designing, manufacturing and maintaining the biggest machines on earth.
“Wherever the big machines are, that’s where you’ll find us,” Wandler told WBC. “Even when we end up colonizing Mars, there’ll be something there for L&H to work on.”
Wandler has his eye on the future as he leads the company, which he’s worked for since 1982 and persisted with during the oil downturn in the ’80s. He said the only way a company stays in business as long as L&H has is to perpetually grow and diversify.
“The world’s changing quick; the world wants net-zero energy,” he said. “I’m personally committed to having Wyoming continue to innovate energy and make it a global play.”
Wandler told WBC that Wyoming is going to lead the way in whatever the cleanest, safest, most cost-effective energy is determined to be for human beings and if they all work hand in hand, that goal can be accomplished.
“Wyoming and L&H and myself — we have a bright future together, and I’m really looking forward to it,” Wandler said in the video.
