Warming trend settles in for Gillette’s weekend

GILLETTE, Wyo. — It’s still summer, and Mother Nature has planned a sunny, warm late-season weekend for Gillette.

Today will see the start of a warming trend as the front that brought cooler temps and rain continues to slide south. Expect a high of 72 under sunny skies before a low of 47 under clear skies tonight, according to the National Weather Service in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Saturday will see a high near 77 while Sunday’s high should max out around 82. Overnight lows will also warm from 48 degrees on Saturday to 51 degrees on Sunday.

Monday will see much of the same with a high of 81 under sunny skies and a low of 50.

Tuesday is likely to see cooler air come back, tempering the high to around 75. Wednesday will be similar with a high of 74, but Thursday could see rain return and with it cooler temperatures in the 60s.
